Day 29 and 30
Week 5

I did cardio on these two days.  Nothing exciting to post but I am feeling great and looking better.  I will post photos in the next couple of days!

Day 28
Week 4

Today I did my lower body WO.  When I put WO it will mean work out.  I am getting lazy with my typing.  I did a few new exercises and had a tough time with the last set.  I am running out of weight on my calves.  I am doing almost 300 lbs.  I must have some strong calves.  Michael says it is because I walk on my toes.  Jazzy walks the same way so I am sure she has some strong calves as well.  I am almost a 1/3 way through the challenge.  I feel like I am shrinking but I am staying off the scale.  I will take photos Wed. or Thurs for the end of week 4.
Day 27
Week 4

I did my upper body workout today.  I was actually supposed to do my lower body but I forgot and did upper.  I am going to have to fit two lower workouts in this week to make up for it.  Well, it was a great workout anyway!!!  LOL
Day 26
Week 4

I did a cardio workout today.  I just walked the neighborhood with Michael.  It was very late and dark out and not to mention cold.  I was determined not to miss my workout.

Week 4

Free day!!  I do not have a free meal today but I am taking a day off from the gym.  It is closed for the holidays.  I am still in my pj's and it is 3 pm.  It has been a nice day of rest!!!  Tomorrow I will do some sort of cardio.  I have to go out of town and pick up my Jazzy but will find some way to fit it in!!!!
Day 24
Week 4

I did my upper body workout today.  I actually changed it up a little.  I think it is good to do that so the body does not get used to a certain exercise.  I have been trying to stretch after every workout.  It is making me much more flexible and helps with soreness.

I did my lower body today.  I tried a few new exercises.  I felt the burn for sure today.  I can see my body changing.  People are starting to notice.  It feels like parts of me are missing!  I guess I got used to the extra fat!  LOL  I am not going to weigh myself every week.  I tend to gain weight and sometimes this can be discouraging.  I am going to wait a few weeks to weigh.  For now I am going to go by the way my clothes fit and my photos.  My next photos will be next week.

I did my upper body workout today.  I did good on my diet and did stretches.  I can feel my body changing every day!!!!  Feels good!

Day 19
Week 3

No workout today!!!  I ate a big breakfast for a free meal.  Tonight we will go out to eat but I will probably get fish, salad and a potato.  So far the diet has not been too difficult to stick to.  I spread my free days out.  Wed. is margarita and Mexican food, Frid. or Sat will be a free meal some time that day and Sundays I will either eat a big breafast or a big dinner that evening.  This seems to work well for me so far.
Day 18
Week 3

I had a cardio day today.  I did the 20 minute BFL workout.  I rode the stationary bike.  I definately broke a sweat and felt the burn!  I have added ab workouts every day.  Abs are one muscle that we can work every day.  It is a problem area, as you can see by my photos, so I need a little extra help there.

Week 3

I did the Latin Heat class today.  I usually do this as a cardio day.  It is something my daughter and I do together.  I tried to do the 20 min cardio and the dance class in one day.  It took me 2 days to get over it!!!! LOL  She really loves it and it is a good cardio workout.
Today I had a free meal.  I ate a BBQ sandwhich, chips, Twix, 2 cookies, and a Martini.  I felt so guilty eating all that but for some reason I felt so hungry today.  Sometimes our body gets low on calories and a good overload will pull us out of it.  I usually do not eat like that but I finally feel full and ready for tomorrow.

I did my lower body today.  It was tough but got through it.  Jazzy went with me and she did it, also.  I hope I can encourage her to take care of her body while she is young and not old like me.  LOL
I put the 2 week photos on here.  You can see a definate difference in the last 2 weeks.  I am anxious to see week 4.  I hate these photos of me but it gives me inspiration to improve!!!  A lot of inspiration.  OMG


I always consider myself semi attractive until I see these photos!  They are humbling to say the least!

Week 3
Day 15

I can't believe I am on week 3.  Today I weighed in.  I am back up to 167.  I kind of expected it.  The reason being I have been lifting a lot of weight.  I am bound to put on muscle and as we know it weighs much more than fat.  I feel my clothes getting loose so at this point that is what I am looking for.  I will take pics tonight and post them tomorrow.
I did my upper body workout today.  Again I can not emphasize enough how the energy boosters make a world of differenc in getting through a workout.  Michael bought me a Mp3 player holder to put on my arm.  So cool!!!  Now it does not fall every time I move.  I love it.  The music helps me get through the workout.  I am not sure why but it really works.  Plus people do not try to come up and talk to you with earphones in.  LOL  I get to talking and miss my workout.
Tonight is margarita night and Mexican food!!!!  Yummy!

Day 14

I did a great cardio workout!  I used the stepper machine.  I am not sure the proper name for it but it sure works the booty!!!  I hit my 10's and felt great.

I have been checking different things for my BMI.  So far I am coming up with 28.8% body fat and not the 33%.  I am not sure what was going on with the machine at the gym but I am pretty sure I do not have 33% body fat.  So I am going with the 28.8%.  We will see how low it gets throughout the process.
Week 2
Day 13

Today I did a lower body workout.  I increased my weigh today and broke a sweat.  It is amazing how much stronger I have gotten in just a couple of weeks.  I am not seeing drastic results in how I look yet, but I can see myself shinking some and I feel a lot better.  I am sure by week 6 I will see a new person.  I can't wait.  Tomorrow starts week 3 so I will take some photos and share.  I still plan to take them every two weeks.  I also will weigh every Wednesday.
Week 2
Day 12

Free day!!!!!!!!!!  I went to visit family and ate like a hog.  I feel so guilty when I do it because I keep thinking to myself it is impossible to lose weight and ever eat like this.  Well I am testing BFL out to see if it really works.  Believe me, if it does, I plan to live on this diet the rest of my life. 
Week 2
Day 11

Today I did my upper body workout!  I did not even braek a sweat so I think I may have to increase weight or something.  I hate to grunt and groan with my ear phones in.  I am not sure how loud I get.  LOL  It was a good workout and felt the burn.

I did a Latin Heat class today with my daughter.  I usually do the 20 minute workout but this class is 1 hour and we sweat like pigs!!!  I am going out of town tomorrow.  This is going to be tough.  It is difficult to stay on the diet and be with family.  Especially my family.  They love to eat.  Thank goodness for the free meals.

I did my lower body workout today.  I took supplements to enhance my performance.  I do not think I could do it without it.  I think that is the key to getting into great shape!  I am enjoying the Myoplex shakes.  They are great after a good workout.  I can see some results already.  None ar drastic yet but I am on my way.  I am starting to finally get over this bad cold.

Day 8  12-8-10

I am going to do cardio again today.  I typically do strength training but I am still feeling under the weather.  People who have had this cold say it could take 10 to 14 days to get over.  If I can keep working out as bad as I feel I should be able to finish this Challenge with NO problem.

Day 7  12-7-10

I did cardio today.  It was tough but I made it through,  I am still sick so the workouts are tougher than usual.  I did terrible on my diet today.  I did not splurge on anything but I did not eat 6 times and enough protein.  One suggestion is to always make sure you have all the food you need ahead of time.  This really means a lot to keeping the diet.  I went grocery shopping and now I am set.

I had a good upper body workout.  Two keys to getting through a workout that works for me are
1. Energy Booster
2. MP3 player with good music

I told my husband this and he tried this yesterday.  He said it made his workout much easier.  It helps you get into the ZONE.  I also try not to get distracted and talk to people.  I wait until after my workout.

Day 4 12-4-10

It was a Saturday but I made it to the gym.  I did ny lower body workout.  I am still feeling sick but somehow I am making all my workouts.  That is when you have to dig down inside!  Something inside to  motivate or drive you when you feel sick, tired or distressed.  I also found out my cousin died today.  I have been very sad about that.  She has always been in my family's life.  So needless to say I had a rough day today and it is 1:30 am and I still have not gotten to sleep.  One suggestion when taking energy boosters, is to only take it in the morning or you will be like me, up at 1:30 and not sleepy!!!  LOL

Tomorrow is a free meal and no exercise.  I plan to eat a big breakfast.  I think I need the calories because I have been feeling very hungry today.  I think to spread your free meals out to every few days helps keep the calories up and not feel so hungry. JMHO

Day 3  12-3-10

Today I did the cardio.  It was tough!  I did not take any supplements before I went and I think I need to eat a little more.  I also did a Latin heat class with my daughter.  I ran out of steam quick!!!  I was looking in the mirror today and was thinking it will be so nice to get rid of this gut!!!  I know I will have more energy, feel better about myself and look so much better in my clothes.  I can't wait and I have 81 days to go.  I am sore today from my upper body workout yesterday.  Ouch!!!!!!!!!!

Day 2  12-2-10

I did my upper body work out today.  I felt like crap but I made it through.  For some reason it seemed really easy to me today and I lifted a lot of weight.  More than usual!  I think the key is using supplements to get you through the workout.  EAS has good performance supplements.  I should be sore tomorrow.  So far the diet is so easy.  I am not sure why this is so much easier this time around.  I am not hungry at all and the food is great.  I love the Myoplex protein shakes.  They are very filling and yummy!!!!!

Day 1  12-1-10

Today was my first day.  I did not do the cardio as intense as I should because I am still feeling a little sick.  I did 20 min. on the bike.  I also got Nelvin, trainer at my gym, to take my body fat %.  I have my meals all planned out for the day.  Wednesday will be a free meal in the evening.  This is date night for hubby and I.  We get margaritas and Mexican food.  We have been doing this for almost 21 years.  That is why I love the BFL.  You can still splurge a little and lose weight.

Goal:  147 and 22%  If I get less then that is even better!!!


All I can say is HOW EMBARASSING!!  I did not realize how bad out of shape I became.  It is nothing but up from here!!!!! LOL

Today was supposed to be my first day.  I woke up with a sore throat and sinus.  I think I caught Jazzy's cold.  I am going to stay in a rest for a few days.  I am shooting for Thursday now, as my first day.  I think if I drink plenty of fluids and stay in I should be good as new by then.

Today is the day before the Challenge.  I am feeling a lot of emotion from fear to excitment.  Don't ask me why, but this is just how I am feeling today.  I am printing out the kit and going to get some supplements today.  I love the Myoplex shakes.

 My husband will be taking my before photos sometime today.  So far my family is very supportive and this is what I really need.  It will take a few weeks to get into the groove of things, but I am ready mentally to take it on.  I will probably post my before pics tonight or tomorrow.

I remember reading Bill Philips' book about 12 years ago.  He made a statement that I will never forget.  He said if a person can transform his body and discipline it, then a person can carry that into their daily life.  He said that it can help a person to become successful in business and even other aspects of life.  I am sure that is not exactly how he worded it but that is what he was meaning.  So I am here to test this out.  Let's see that happens!!!!!

Getting closer

Today I went to the gym.  Of course I have not started the challenge yet, but I am getting into a good routine of going to the gym every day.  I am preparing my mind several days beforehand to take on this challenge and complete it.  I thought if I started a blog and shared it with others, this would help me to complete it sucessfully.  Then if I don't feel like working out or continuing, I will look like a failure!!!  LOL  This will motivate me to finish and win the challenge.

Beginning a new transformation

Okay!  This is my first post for this blog.  I plan to post photos every two weeks and enter a blog every day.  Starting November 29th, I am going to enter the Body For Life Challenge.  It is a 12 week program of fitness and life changing habits.  I tried to do it in the past but never completed it.  This time I plan to complete it and win the Challenge.  I plan to make life changes now that will carry into the future.

Jasmine is going to be my motivation.  I bribed her to help me and when I win, I will give her some of the money.  LOL  I know it is going to be a tough journey!  I have done it long enough in the past to know it takes not only physical strength, but also something inside to drive you to complete it and be successful.  At age 41 I am tired of being chubby, tired and no motivation.  It is time to make a change.  I hope to share this journey with others and maybe be an inspiration to some.  I hope you enjoy my blog.
